Biography

VAMPS is a newly focused on rock unit with HYDE from L'Arc~en~Ciel and K.A.Z from Oblivion Dust.
The two were joined together producing HYDE's solo-work since 2003.

On July 2, 2008, their first released single "Love Addict" was a hit worldwide, and successfully performed at ZEPP Tokyo, a total of an unheard of 46 show-tour called "VAMPS LIVE 2008". On February 4, 2009, they released a DVD of their live-shows called "VAMPS LIVE 2008". On March 13, 2009, as an opening, they released their 2nd single "I GOTTA KICK START NOW".

As of the tour beginning in May of 2009, called "VAMPS LIVE 2009", it is filled with shows at the ZEPP Arena. Also not to mention an upcoming US tour, already with scheduled dates.

On August 11 and 12, VAMPS will be appearing in Taiwan for their "2009 Summer Rock Summit" show.

Their 3rd single "EVANESCENT" was released on May 13, and also has announced their release of their first album titled "VAMPS" on June 10, 2009.

Member Profiles

HYDE (Guitar and Vocal)
Vocalist for the worldly renowned L'Arc~en~Ciel. Since his solo-debut on October 17th 2001, he has been an icon ever since. In 2005, HYDE composed and sponsored the theme song, "GLAMOROUS SKY" for the movie "NANA". His hit singles "evergreen" "HELLO" "COUNTDOWN" "SEASON'S CALL" was an original content first appearance and took first place. In April of 2006, his third album "FAITH" was released and at the same time broke history as the oldest, and performed the most public performances. (Total of 50 performances) He then went on a country-wide, sold-out tour called "HYDE TOUR 2006 FAITH" which was a huge success. Also at the same time, toured the US west coast, performing live in 4 places, titled "2000CAP". Tickets were sold-out and even locally, the tickets were hard to obtain. In March of 2009, he released a solo-best album titled "HYDE".

K.A.Z (Guitar)
Began "Oblivion Dust" in 1996 and debut the following year. In charge of guitar and producing, jointly performed in "hide with Spread Beaver" and "Spin Aqua" (Tsuchiya and Anna's Unit). He then joined HYDE's team in collaborating to produce in 2003. In HYDE's 3rd Album "FAITH", K.A.Z composed 5 of the songs, including the hit single "SEASON'S CALL" and jointly produced all the songs on the album. Together they have a magnetic tug, and make such a great team.

He also composed the theme song "SATSUGAI" in the movie and anime "Detroit Metal City", which also put him the spotlight.

Currently he is still working with Oblivion Dust and continues to work and perform with them along with HYDE and VAMPS.
